UCSF Valley Care Satellite Clinic

People Space represented UCSF Medical Center as the Project Manger for the creation of 5 separate Clinics at the Valley Care Medical Center. These were UCSFMC Satellite Clinics serving children, and women's health. Each Suite had a separate specialty, 4 suites were patient care clinics and 1 was administrative space for doctor and staff offices. We worked with the landlord's architect and general contractor to design and construct each Suite. We were required to remove MRI equipment and degausing of one of the suites. People Space worked with the landlord's architect to design and build two separate handicap accessible toilets. This project required an OSHPD 3 and State Fire MarshalI inspection in order to obtain an occupancy permit. SFM required the installation of a partial Fire Alarm System which included the design and installation of horns, strobes, smoke detectors and cabling back to the control panel. This project also had to adhere to strict HIPA (patient privacy) regulations, requiring the creation of a stand alone data and phone network. We coordinated the effort with UCSF IT personnel to identify the location and quantity of phone and data outlets, create a IDF closet, it's required equipment and air conditioning, subcontracted the routing of the new cabling and connections at wall plates and IDF punch down. We worked with our client to determine the exam room wall attachments, equipment, exam tables, and all accessories. The construction was followed by a thorough punch list resolution process prior to occupancy. Part of the design effort included determining what existing furniture we were to keep, what new furniture we needed to specify, order and install and what items were to be disposed of. People Space obtained 3 competitive bids from moving contractors, eventually contracting with Norcal Moving to bring existing furniture from remote sites, add to the new furniture we were purchasing, remove all debris and surplus product. People Space's move coordination services insured that schedule was coordinated to minimize the impact on patient services, that UCSF IT staff confirmed data connectivitiy and that the furniture was delivered and installed just prior to the relocation of the staff's contents, storage and equipment. Our turn key services required us to be involved from the early scope definition and programming, through the hanging of the last piece of artwork and removal of move packing boxes.
