Kaiser Permanente, National Facilities Services, Northern California, Capital Projects – Hayward Hospital Emergency Room, Trauma Room #15 |
This was one of our 25 Kaiser projects. Having been cited for multiple violations, this trauma room was out of compliance with the Joint Commission (JCAHO). As Project Manager, our directive was to bring the room back into compliance by replacing the floor, counter, sink/back splash and removal of the ceiling mounted equipment boom. Removal of the boom required the relocation of its cardiac monitor, medical gases, nurse call, emergency power and data connectivity to a new “Headwall” construction. This project required design and permit approval from OSHPD. The project was completed on time, within budget and was successful in returning Kaiser to JCAHO compliance and restoring the ER Trauma patient care capacity.
