National Historic Registry Church Renovation

People Space provided project and construction management services to the exterior and interior restoration of First Presbyterian Church of Alameda, including the interior colonade and stained glass windows shown on the right. Phase One and Two of a Three Phase Renovation project of this National Historic Registry Sanctuary. Phase One included the restoration of the exterior, replacement of plexiglass window coverings with laminated safety glass and the preservation of the 21 stained glass windows. Phase One was completed to commemorate the Centinneal of the Sanctuary on Easter Sunday, 2004. Phase Two included engineered, seismic upgrades, shear wall construction, ceiling diaphragm blocking and reinforcement, plaster repair, complete repainting, regilding or corbel elements, removal of carpet & refinishing of the wood floor, repair and repainting of the pews, installation of new carpet in Narthex, exits and aisle runners. The organ was retuned, the organ pipes were repaired repainted.
